Lending for non-OSU Libraries

The OSU Libraries' Interlibrary Services Office supplies loans and photocopies of materials to libraries and other agencies. Individuals should contact the academic or corporate library with which they are affiliated or their nearest public library to make a request.

Request Methods Accepted By OSU

Requests are received from other libraries via OCLC, fax or mail. We do not accept requests via email or phone. Registered libraries may make direct requests via ILLiad by logging in on this page.

Libraries not using OCLC that wish to register with us may email us at liblend@osu.edu. Please include a contact person's name, email address, shipping/billing address, and Odyssey address (if applicable). We will provide your username and a password, which you may change when you log on.

Loans and Photocopies

Loans of Books, Microforms, and Multimedia

The loan period is 35 days from the date an item is shipped. A renewal of 3 weeks may be possible if requested. For multi-piece loans (e.g., several volumes of a series) the limit is three items per request.

Photocopies of Journal Articles and Proceedings Papers

Photocopies are provided for articles up to 50 pages in length. We prefer to deliver articles electronically via Odyssey. Borrowing libraries using the FREE Odyssey software can send and receive electronic documents with OCLC ILLiad sites as well as other Odyssey sites.
